Social Services: Social services is the activities of social workers and others in promoting the health and well-being of people and in helping people become more self sufficient preventing dependency; strengthening restoring individuals, families, groups or communities to successful social functioning.

Social Problems

Social Problems: Social problems are conditions among people leading to social responses that violate some people’s values and norms and cause emotional or economic suffering. Examples of social problems include crime, social inequality, poverty, racism, drug abuse, misdistribution of limited resources.

According to American Journal of Sociology by-Lawrence K. Frank” Social problem is any difficulty or misbehavior of fairly large number of person which we wish to remove or correct”.

Law:
According to Oxford Dictionary ` Law –all the rules established by authority or custom for regulating the behaviour of members of a community or country’.

Social Legislation:
According to Social Work Dictionary-Social legislation is the laws and resources allocations providing for human welfare needs, income security, education and cultural progress, civil rights, consumer protection and programs that address social problems.
